Gypsum-based self-leveling materials have excellent fluidity, uniformity, flatness, crack resistance and high efficiency. After rapid hardening, they can be directly used for flooring and other decoration. They are widely used in workshops, stadiums, shopping malls and other floors [1]. Gypsum-based self-leveling materials are composed of gypsum as the base material, aggregate, cementitious materials and additives. After being mixed with water, they have excellent self-leveling properties and high strength after hardening. Gypsum-based self-leveling materials are lightweight and have a certain degree of micro-expansion, which gives them good crack resistance. In order to achieve the purpose of material recycling and green construction, industrial waste such as desulfurized gypsum, phosphogypsum, and fluorogypsum can be selected as gypsum base materials. Therefore, gypsum-based self-leveling materials are a green, environmentally friendly, economical and efficient building material for floor leveling.

Admixtures
The additives in gypsum-based self-leveling materials generally have the following functions:
1) Reducing the water-cement ratio and improving fluidity;
2) Maintaining appropriate viscosity of the slurry to prevent bleeding and segregation;
3) Adjusting the workability of the self-leveling material;
4) Improving the bonding strength and abrasion resistance between the self-leveling material and the substrate.
Redispersible latex powder
Redispersible polymer powder, when mixed with water, maintains an emulsion state, acting as a dispersant and binder, thus improving various properties of mortar.
Studies have found that a 3% RDP content results in a bond strength of 1.21 MPa. It can improve the surface density and strength of gypsum-based self-leveling mortar, thereby enhancing its wear resistance. RPP powder significantly improves the mechanical properties and crack resistance of mortar, while reducing shrinkage and abrasion loss. It also increases the oven-dry flexural strength, oven-dry compressive strength, and tensile bond strength of gypsum-based self-leveling mortar.
Redispersible latex powder plays the following main roles in gypsum-based self-leveling materials:
1) Upon contact with water, it forms dispersible latex particles that fill the capillary pores of the C-S-H gel, creating a denser gel structure;
2) The latex particles form a continuous thin film in the slurry, acting as a binder between the aggregate and the slurry, improving the performance of the interfacial transition zone;
3) The latex film effectively relieves internal stress, reducing stress concentration and the formation of internal microcracks.

Cellulose ethers disperse in water and possess a certain viscosity, improving the fluidity and slurry properties of mortar. The mechanism of action of cellulose ethers involves the formation of hydrogen bonds between the hydroxyl groups of water and the oxygen atoms on the ether bonds of the cellulose ether, thereby converting free water into bound water. Studies have found that HPMC can significantly improve the water retention performance of phosphogypsum-based self-leveling mortar. It effectively improves the water retention and bond strength of self-leveling mortar, but has some negative impacts on compressive strength, flexural strength, and fluidity. Cellulose ethers significantly improve the viscosity and water retention of mortar, but the mechanical properties tend to decrease. Therefore, when cellulose ethers are applied to gypsum-based self-leveling mortar, the main characteristics are increased slurry viscosity, decreased mortar fluidity, and improved bleeding phenomena with increased cellulose ether content.
